Since 2014, George Selix, executive director at USAA, has been privileged to lead the team responsible for learning content development, knowledge management and the learning technology roadmap. He was honored to serve 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a combat rescue and special operations helicopter pilot, with broadening assignments as an operational test pilot, weapons school instructor and staff officer. He retired as a lieutenant colonel in 2000. Prior to USAA, he held senior HR, learning, and IT roles at Cendant, Bank of America, Sun Microsystems, the University of Wisconsin Health System, and Adayana. Most of these roles were at the intersection of learning, performance and technology. Selix has a bachelor’s in business, a master’s in industrial management, and a doctorate in organizational learning. He also holds PMP and SPHR certifications. He and his wife live on a cattle ranch in southeast Indiana.
